On 25 November 2009, I received the prestigious title which I have yearned for five long years - Shodan.

I believe that we can achieve out aim eventually as long as we are breathing, healthy, committed and have the passion.

I can still recall my first day in NYP dojo. My strict sensei was very particular about basic dojo etiquette. Any one who make any noise will be invited out of the dojo. There are quite a lot of freshies signed up and got their uniform but left within half a year. The number kept on decreasing until I'm the only one left from my batch currently.

I think most of them either have no interest or unable to commit unlike me who wants to learn how to self defense badly since 12 years old.

What makes me join aikido rather than other martial art is because of the civics and moral education that sensei gave every lesson and it can still be used even when I'm 80 years old (if i can live that long). I also love the Japanese etiquette and the graceful movement of the art.
